Overview

The DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during their last 180 days (6 months) of service.

As a DoD approved SkillBridge provider, Vets2PM can facilitate your organization hosting a SkillBridge Intern for OJT for up to 180 days  (average OJT time is 4+ months).

Vets2PM has taken an existing program and improved it by:

  • Developing DoD SkillBridge ‘Tracks,’ which include Project Management, IT/Cyber, HR, and General Management.
  • Facilitating Internships that are outside those Tracks if you have a unique need / interest through our ‘Administration Only’ option.
  • Including industry-recognized certification training per each Track, (PMP and Scrum for Project Management; CompTIA Security+ for IT/Cyber; aPHR for Human Resources, and Certified Manager (CM) for General Management.)
  • Ensuring each Intern is pre-qualified for the DoL Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC), so your organization can take advantage of this valuable tax credit for hiring veterans.
  • Administering the program for you (you have your own business to attend to), and are accountable to the DoD for program compliance, metrics, and reporting.
  • Presenting candidates you likely would never see, who come with experience, education, credentials, and security clearances.

Pipeline Information

Project Management Pipeline

Vets2PM transforms these qualified Interns into “Multi-Purpose Project Managers” who have both predictive and agile certification training and experience. They will train for the PMP and  PSM certifications to validate their experience while you provide on-the-job-training (OJT) to indoctrinate them into the civilian Project Management experience.

Vets2PM is with you and your Resident (Intern) every step of the way, mentoring the Resident via our weekly Zoom calls and collaborating with your team for a successful SkillBridge experience.

IT/Cyber Professional Pipeline

Vets2PM trains the Resident (Intern) to industry hot certifications (that also make them DoD 8570/8140 compliant) and provide them the experience they need for the  positions you are hiring for. They will no longer hear: “Sorry, you have the talent we want just not the certifications or experience we require” routine!

General Management Pipeline

Vets2PM provides the Resident (Intern) with general management fundamentals by learning to speak the language of management, fluently! The Resident will study for the internationally recognized Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM) Certified Manager (CM) certification and will be able to prove and apply their general business expertise during their internship, on job interviews, while on-the-job, or while running their own business.

HR Pipeline

Vets2PM and your organization will provide HR management on-the-job training (OJT) and an internationally recognized certification. During the program, the goals are for the Resident (Intern) to earn an Associate Professional in Human Resources (“aPHR”) certification from HRCI and use their skills as an HR professional in a civilian operated company.
