What Is Skillbridge?
The DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for service members who are exiting the military to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during their last 180 days (6 months) of service.
As a DoD approved SkillBridge provider, Vets2PM can facilitate your organization hosting a SkillBridge Intern for OJT for up to 180 days (average OJT time is 4+ months).
Why Partner with Vets2PM?
Our ‘SkillBridge-as-a-Service’ Program enables you to host an unpaid ‘intern’ without having to manage the actual program. This means that SkillBridge is our responsibility (including accountability for DoD program compliance, metrics, and reporting.) Our services to you include:
- Identifying and presenting candidates for your consideration
- Facilitating first interviews
- Pairing industry-recognized certification with the internship to ensure the best qualified job candidates for you post-internship
- Ensuring each intern is pre-certified for their Work Opportunity Tax Credit which your company can take advantage of if you hire the intern as a W-2 employee
DoD SkillBridge interns are different from college interns, because they bring years of professional experience. They apply their experience while simultaneously learning your business.
