Lean Alaska Training

Lean is process improvement and it provides tangible and measurable results.

Learn how you can become a catalyst to drive innovation and change within your organization and improve outcomes by creating solutions that work. While we are building culture into your organization, Lean Alaska can provide mentorship and consulting for individual tools or full projects to support your team. Our goal is to transition this service to your team as the training program develops.

Lean Six Sigma places focus on inefficiencies – waste caused by defects and eliminates non value-added flow of information or materials, data storage, stacks of inventory, overproduction and extra processing.

GREEN BELT: 40 Hours of Training (Live-Virtual)

Can be completed in 1 week or divided up for 2 consecutive weeks of training. Focused on the DMAIC Roadmap, utilizing basic skills, tools, and heavy in Lean Principles.

BLACK BELT: 120 Hours of Training (Live-Virtual)

To be completed in 4 months (1 week each month, 30 hours each of those weeks). Reviews Green Belt and then places focus on the DMAIC Roadmap, heavy in Six Sigma Advanced skills and tools.

All Lean Alaska’s courses are delivered in a LIVE, Virtual Environment that is easily accessed around the world through the utilization of the MS Teams platform for all the training courses. The Live-Virtual environment allows for the instructor and students to interact and work through practical exercises that help create a solid foundation for learning. Most interactive exercises are performed in Lucid as a way to “act out” case study scenarios.

Accreditations

Lean Alaska provides Training and Examination opportunities that are approved and fall in-line with a number of credentialing bodies. Two sought after Lean Six Sigma Accreditations Lean Alaska is Certified with are International Association for Six Sigma Certification (IASSC), American Society of Quality (ASQ), and Council for Six Sigma Certification (CSSC). By being an Approved and Certified Lean Six Sigma Training Organization with our own curriculum, you can rest assured, we are providing you with the best possible material and exam preparation available. The development and design of Lean Alaska’s Training material has taken a number of years and experience in order to be able offer all LSS levels (from White belt all the way through Master Black Belt) that provides and enables our students to become more than just trained in Lean Six Sigma. Our students will not only have the academic knowledge, but they will also be working towards becoming valuable practitioners of Lean Six Sigma

Phil Ranck

Founder

Phil Ranck is a Pennsylvania native, who decided after graduation from high school to join the United States Army. Serving 24 years on active duty status provided him the opportunity to live and work in a number of different states and counties, which set the foundation for working with process improvement. During Phil’s service as a Warrant Officer, his ambitious nature enabled him to earn his Bachelors degree in Military Management and program acquisition, with a concentration in contracting from American Military University (‘10) and his Master degree in Transportation and Logistics Management from American Military University (‘14). With the combined knowledge of military experience and formal education, it was clear that implementing change in the logistics field of the US Army is best accomplished using a clear process; leading to becoming a Certified Department of the Army Master Black Belt and soon after an IASSC, ASQ, and CSSC Certified Black Belt.

Lean Alaska was formed in 2019 out of an overwhelming desire from individuals and businesses in Alaska who are seeking to advance their professional growth, development, and credentialing. Lean Alaska initially began as a Lean Six Sigma training program only, but quickly appreciated the positive impacts of a fused methodology training and consulting program. Lean Six Sigma is the core of the program and is based on the body of knowledge (BOK) that comprises the 4 major Lean Six Sigma Accreditation Certifications. Those are IASSC, ASQ, DOD, and CSSC. In addition to these internationally accepted programs, elements of other methodologies have been interwoven into the program. Design Thinking is a user-centric, innovative approach to problem solving. Business Process Re-engineering is geared toward software development and implementation as it applies to problem solving. The foundation of Change Management that drives executive support and culture development enable these approaches to be possible. Every problem is unique, as is the path to problem resolution. Lean Alaska strives to create a culture of process improvement in individuals and organizations that drives positive outcomes and collaborative team effort. This starts with training to create a common understanding of the tools and how to use them; enhanced with mentorship and consulting to demonstrate the capability to use them. We want our students and clients to be able to recognize opportunities as they happen and apply process improvement tools as a preventative measure.

Lean Six Sigma (LSS)

Lean Six Sigma (LSS) plays a vital role in today’s business environment. It places focus on inefficiencies – waste caused by defects and eliminates non value-added flow of information or materials, data storage, stacks of inventory, overproduction and extra processing. With Lean Six Sigma’s proven techniques, business managers have the skills to find, fix, and finalize efficiencies to save time and money and improve your organization abilities at best value. Lean Six Sigma is important for businesses and individuals due to its analytically-based methodology that continues to optimize today’s resources.

Green Belt
